Parent & Carer Counselling

At Flying Colours Education, we understand that supporting children can sometimes feel overwhelming, exhausting, and emotionally challenging for parents and carers.

Michelle provides a safe, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where parents and carers can feel supported while navigating family stress, parenting challenges, anxiety, emotional wellbeing, relationship difficulties, and life’s many transitions.

Through a warm and collaborative approach, Michelle supports adults to build self-awareness, strengthen coping strategies, and feel more confident and supported — because when parents and carers feel supported, children benefit too.

Supporting Parents of

Struggling Learners

Parenting a child who is struggling with learning can feel like an emotional rollercoaster.

Some days feel like progress, and others can feel like setbacks. It can be exhausting trying to support your child while also managing the emotions, challenges, and expectations that come with it all.

At Flying Colours Education, Michelle works closely with families who are navigating this journey.

She understands that it’s not just about the child — it’s about the whole family. The stress, the worry, the questions, and the moments where you’re not sure what the “right” approach is.

Through counselling, Michelle supports children to better understand and manage their emotions — while also helping parents feel more confident in how they respond, support, and advocate for their child.

This includes:

  • making sense of big emotions and behaviours

  • navigating school challenges and social situations

  • supporting emotional regulation at home

  • helping parents feel more equipped and less alone in the process

The goal is not to “fix” your child — but to support them, and you, with the tools and understanding needed to move forward with confidence.

You don’t have to navigate this alone.

In this video, our counsellor, Michelle talks about how counselling for parents with kids with learning difficulties can be beneficial for everyone!
